Terms of Service
The rules for using MiniBook3 — the site, control plane, payments, and the register on your Linux or Windows till.
Effective date: 11 August 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Zolestio Labs (“Zolestio,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) for MiniBook3 — our marketing website, licence and payment control plane, and the Linux-MiniBook3 / Windows-MiniBook3 desktop point-of-sale applications.
By visiting minibook3.zolestio.com (or our GitHub Pages project site), using the MiniBook3 API, activating a licence, completing checkout, or installing and running MiniBook3 on a till, you agree to these Terms. If you use MiniBook3 for a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business.
Acceptance and eligibility
Agreement
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the website, API, checkout, or desktop apps. Continued use after we publish an updated version means you accept the changes, except where applicable law requires a different notice process.
Eligibility
MiniBook3 is intended for business use by adults with legal capacity to contract (typically 18+). You must comply with the laws of the places where you operate your shop and process payments.
What MiniBook3 is
Product surfaces
MiniBook3 includes: (1) a public marketing and downloads site; (2) a control-plane API that issues activation keys, records licences and payment status, and sends transactional email; (3) desktop POS apps for Linux and Windows that run the register on your computer; and (4) an authenticated Admin console for Zolestio operators.
Not legal or tax advice
Receipts, shifts, reports, and tax-related fields are tools for your operations. You remain responsible for tax compliance, fiscal rules, and record-keeping requirements in your jurisdiction.
Website and control-plane API
Marketing site
The website describes features, pricing, guides, and downloads. Content may change as we improve the product. Pricing shown publicly may be overlaid from live package records; codes Free / Solo / Enterprise remain the stable identities.
API access
Licence activation, package choice, payment shell creation, and related endpoints are provided for MiniBook3 clients under fair use. You must not scrape, overload, reverse-engineer for circumvention, or probe the API beyond normal product use.
Availability
We aim for reliable uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance, provider outages, or force majeure may interrupt the control plane. Free-tier offline register behaviour (where implemented) does not remove your duty to re-activate when connectivity returns.
Desktop POS (Linux and Windows)
Local software
Linux-MiniBook3 and Windows-MiniBook3 are native/desktop applications. Packaging differs by OS; core Free and Solo capabilities are intended to stay at feature parity. You are responsible for installing into a dedicated folder, applying updates safely, and securing the machine.
Data on your till
By default, sales ledger data for Free and Solo lives on the merchant computer (for example under the MiniBook3 application data directory). Backups you create are your responsibility. Enterprise connected features, when licensed, may sync additional operational data under separate Enterprise terms and configuration.
Devices and peripherals
Printers, cash drawers, scanners, and displays depend on your OS drivers and cabling. We provide integration paths documented in Guides; we are not liable for third-party hardware failures.
Accounts, activation keys, and packages
Activation
Access requires a valid activation flow tied to an email and installation identity. Keep keys confidential. Sharing keys to evade package limits, cloning installations against policy, or falsifying identity is prohibited.
Package ladder
Public packages are Free, Solo, and Enterprise. Free remains free for its published scope. Solo is typically an annual paid licence for a single node. Enterprise is licensed per PoS node when fleet/portal capabilities apply. Display names and list prices may be updated in Admin; package codes stay stable.
Trials
Where a Solo trial is offered, converting trial to annual updates the same sealed installation where the product supports it — it must not be used to mint duplicate paid installations for the same desk without a legitimate new-install purchase.
Suspension and blacklist
We may suspend, revoke, or refuse activation for unpaid invoices, chargebacks we reasonably believe are abusive, fraud, security risk, or material Terms violations. Admin tools may blacklist identifiers to protect the service.
Payments
PayHere
Card and supported payment methods for MiniBook3 packages are processed by PayHere (or a successor processor we nominate). Checkout opens in your browser. We do not store full card primary account numbers on MiniBook3 servers.
Fees and currency
Unless stated otherwise, list prices are in USD. Taxes, bank fees, FX conversion, and processor fees may apply according to PayHere and your bank. Failed payments may delay package upgrades until settled.
Refunds
Refund and chargeback handling follows our operations policy and processor rules. Abuse of refunds to retain paid capability may result in licence revocation. Contact operations@zolestio.com for billing disputes promptly and in good faith.
Acceptable use
Lawful commerce
Use MiniBook3 only for lawful retail and related business operations. Do not use it to facilitate illegal sales, money laundering, or evasion of sanctions.
Security and integrity
Do not attempt to bypass licence checks, tamper with signed updates, inject malware, attack our hosts, or harvest other merchants’ data. Do not resell MiniBook3 as if you were Zolestio without written permission.
Admin access
Admin credentials are for authorised Zolestio operators only. Credential sharing outside the operations team is prohibited.
Intellectual property
Our IP
MiniBook3 branding, site design, documentation, and software (except open-source components under their licences) are owned by Zolestio Labs or its licensors. These Terms grant a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the apps and site as intended — not ownership of our source code or marks.
Your content
Product names, logos, and receipt branding you configure remain yours. You grant us a limited licence to process that content solely to operate MiniBook3 for you (for example rendering receipts or storing licence metadata).
Feedback
If you send ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve the product without obligation to you, unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
As available
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MiniBook3 is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, error-free results, or fitness for a particular retail workflow beyond what we expressly document.
Limitation
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zolestio’s aggregate liability arising from MiniBook3 in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid us for MiniBook3 licences in that period (or USD 50 if you only use Free). We are not liable for lost profits, lost sales data on your machine, hardware failure, or indirect damages, except where law forbids that limit.
Your backups
Because Free/Solo ledgers live on your computer, a failed disk without backups can lose history. Maintain backups. Cloud recovery features, where offered, still require correct configuration and network access.
Termination and changes
Stopping use
You may stop using MiniBook3 at any time by uninstalling the apps and discontinuing API use. Provisions that by nature should survive (IP, liability limits, accrued payment obligations) survive termination.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this site with a revised effective date. Material changes that affect paid subscribers may also be communicated to the licensed email on file when practical.
