Set up MiniBook3 on Windows
Windows tills stay update-safe when MiniBook3 lives in its own folder — installer or portable — not a shared Programs root.

Installer or portable zip
Run the win64 setup — Next, Install, Finish opens MiniBook3 from the Start Menu. Portable zip: extract into its own empty folder, then run minibook3.exe from there. Never unpack into a shared Programs root that also holds other apps — updates refuse unsafe parents.
Where the ledger lives
Data path: %LOCALAPPDATA%\MiniBook3\. Back up that folder before disk wipes or PC moves. Activation recognises the shop again when online; the ledger itself was always local.
Activate and open the register
Same product flow as Linux: verify, choose Free / Solo / Enterprise, open the register. Free has no $0 checkout. Paid packages need a successful payment return before entitlements stick — retry after the network recovers; do not re-pay blindly if the portal already shows success.
Printers and cash drawer
Use the Windows spooler / RAW printer path that matches your hardware. Confirm paper width and that the drawer cable is on the printer’s kick port. Test print from Devices before the rush.
First sale checklist
Mirror the Linux playbook: SKUs, open shift, one clean tender, receipt, close shift. Packaging differs; the register story does not.
